Our Story

Ben Ross opened Ross Cleaners in 1959. In 1961, our dad, George Levine, purchased the business.  The neighborhood evolved several times over the next two decades, but the service, quality, and attention to detail continued to be second to none.  With the passing of our dad in 1982, the business ownership migrated to his son, Carl.  For anyone who has met or had the pleasure of doing business with him, the redundant comment is, “Carl, what a guy.  He’ll jump through hoops for me.”  He took the business to a new plateau with his never ending commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.  As the 21st century approached, Carl realized that 70-80 work weeks were a bit much.  Along came younger brother, Peter.  They complement each other very well and soon thereafter, opened up a second store on Newbury St. in Boston.  A new clientele was established and today, despite the occasional economical downturns, Ross Cleaners has expanded it’s customer base.

The memories, the customers, the pleasant stories continue to be told today about Ross Cleaners. Thank you very much for your patronage.
